the 1st
edition of our Riga map.
The ancient fortress city now welcomes
visitors from around the world, as it casts off the residue of decades of
Soviet occupation. Located on the Daugavu River, far enough inland to be
safe from sea pirates, Riga evolved into a prosperous and important city in
the Middle Ages and beyond. This is the latest city map prepared by Andrew
Duggan, and includes an excellent inset expansion of Riga Old Town, which
has recently been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as a
detailed map of the city itself and an inset showing the city in its
environs. The cover picture is of a pert young local girl, who decided to
practice her English on us; printed on paper, single-sided. |
